When Cristobal Colon came to America he brought diseases which decimated the populations of the Natives, As much as 95 percent of the indigenous population died as a result of the disease brought by Cristobal Colon. So by the time Hernan Cortez and Francisco Pizarro Came to conquer the Mexica/Inca it was already ravaged by disease.
