I don't think this would answer the full question that you asked, but Mesopotamians did use irrigation to protect their crops from flood and drought. Flood would probably wipe out their crops and drought would dry their crops. A thing I'm not sure of is how they would protect their crops from locusts. When I find the answer I'll be sure to send you that too. -Anon
Mesopotamia was the land between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers in what is now Iraq.Over population and drought in the mountains surrounding the Tigris & Euphrates river valley drove people to settle there where water from the rivers could sustain them.
Mesopotamia
Mesopotamia was in the fertile crescent and Mesopotamia means "between the to rivers".
Mesopotamia was formerly known as Jezirah and Baghdad which were the respective names for the upper and lower Mesopotamia. Mesopotamia is the present day Iraq.
The northern id mostly rocky (not enough rain) the southern is drought...... other that that I WANT PIE!
drought
The Romans conquered Mesopotamia.
A drought would have little or no effect on them, because they live in the ocean, which droughts cannot affect.
drought
The affect of rivers flooding in Mesopotamia was that the rivers would deposit silt which was very good for growing crops
They will die and will be destroyed which is not good.........
a drought is where there is no rainfall for a long period of time making vegetation unable to grow and animals unable to survive. :)
cant grow crops

Famine is a time of "no food". Drought is a time of "no rain". Drought often brings on famine since lack of water will affect the production of food.
