∙ 14y agoI have learned many things from the ancient Greeks regarding Lifestyle, Democracy, and most interesting of all, Mythology.
The Greeks were a very advanced people. They actually invented the modern democracy, in which political leaders took votes and represented the people. They created new inventions and theories about how life worked. Equality was possibly what made the people so strong and connected.
The thing that intrigues me the most about the Greek people is that they believed in Gods and Goddesses. The twelve Olympian Gods and Goddesses and their range of control are:
- Zeus - The Sky
- Poseidon - Horses and the Ocean
- Hades - The Underworld
- Dionysus - Wine and Grapes
- Apollo - The Sun
- Demeter - The Plants
- Aphrodite - Love and Beauty
- Artemis - The Moon
- Athena - Wisdom and Battle
- Hephaestus - The Blacksmiths and Fire
- Ares - War
- Hestia - The Home and the Hearth
They also believed in monsters such as Medusa the Gorgon, The Minotaur, The Furies, and Cyclops. I hope you find this helpful!
