One of the most important inventions that came out of the fertile crescent was written language by the Sumerians (Sumer - Present day Iraq). Prior to this there is no known written language predating that of Sumerian texts (Cuneiform script).
The fertile crescent was also home to the birth of modern day agriculture and the domestication of goats, sheep, and grains.
The region is also where complex societies and governments first arose.
Mesopotamia contains the fertile river systems of the Tigris and Euphrates which supported early agriculture and so the civilisations which grew up there. The Crescent also includes Syria-Lebanon, which made it into a 'crescent' shape.
The Fertile Crescent's borders are largelly on land as it sits within the borders of Syria, Iraq, Iran and Saudi Arabia. But the Meaditeranean Sea, the Gulf of Acaba (the right side of the upper Red Sea) and the Persian Gulf do make up part of the Crescent's perimiter.
The fertile soil led to crop production. That allowed a population to grow in the area which was the beginning of a civilization. The larger population with a stable source of food attracted others, some of whom only wanted to take food without work or payment. The populace had to band together for protection, establish a policing force, which required food/payment/taxes, with a leader. This eventually grew into a full fledged civilization.
Selene is typically depicted in light blue or white, and the toga (a.k.a- dress) is always loose and flowy but floor-length. She wears a crown with an upside down crescent moon on it. She has a staff that also has a crescent moon at the top (right side up on the staff).

The Fertile Crescent is located in the Middle East. It is Southwest of Iran, South of Turkey, and North of Saudi Arabia. Parts of Syria and Iraq make up the Fertile Crescent.
The Fertile Crescent is in the current countries of Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Israel/Palestine, and Jordan.
The Fertile Crescent sort of looks like a crescent shaped moon or perhaps a French Croissant. It is made up by the Tigris and Euphrates rivers located in Iraq.

Mesopotamia occupies a third of the fertile crescent, the easternmost third to be exact. It extends from the end of the Persian Gulf up through Syria and then down through Palestine almost to Egypt. It is crescent shaped. There is a desert between the two legs.
