Athena helps Telemachus by appearing to him disguised as Mentor to encourage him to call an assembly and speak out against the suitors. She also inspires him to seek information about his father's whereabouts from Nestor and Menelaus. Additionally, Athena provides guidance and reassurance to Telemachus in moments of doubt and difficulty.
After calling an assembly, Telemachus plans to address the suitors who are plaguing his home and confronting them about their disrespectful behavior towards his household. He hopes to restore order and show them that he is capable of taking charge.

In Homer's "The Odyssey," Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, orders an assembly of the citizens of Ithaca. He calls the assembly to address the suitors who are consuming his father's wealth and to seek news of his father’s fate. Telemachus hopes to rally support from the Ithacan leaders and assert his own authority in the absence of Odysseus.
Odysseus tells Telemachus to hid the weapons so that the suitors can't use them. Telemachus has to say that the weapons are getting "smoke damaged" and he is afraid that the suitors will start hurting themselves with them if they have too much to drink.
