After being kicked off Mount Olympus, Hephaestus, the Greek god of fire and craftsmanship, is said to have lived in a volcano, often identified as Mount Etna in Sicily. In some myths, he also created a palace on the island of Lemnos. Despite his exile, he continued to craft exquisite items and weapons for the gods and heroes, showcasing his exceptional skills as a blacksmith.
Hera threw Hephaestus off the Mount Olympus because he wasn't as good looking as their other children. Since he was still a god he didn't die but instead became somewhat crippled.
In one legend, I am not sure of it's origin, Hera threw Hephaestus off of Mount Olympus, because she was so shocked of how ugly he was.Another legend, from Homer's The Iliad suggests that Zues threw Hephaestus off of Mount Olympus when Hephaestus tried to help Hera, against Zeus's wishes.

Hephaestus didn't leave Mount Olympus, his mother, Hera, was so ashamed by his ungodly looks that she threw him straight off of Mount Olympus. When Athena was born from Zeus' mind, Hera's jealousy got the better of her. She thought that, if Zeus could make a child just by brains, so could she. The result was Hephaestus, who is told to be the ugliest god there ever was on Mount Olympus.

Hephaestus is basically a loner. He is the ugliest of the gods, and he is the son of Hera. I guess he would be closest to her, but she threw him off the side of Mount Olympus for being ugly.
