I guess you mean Montezuma II (1466-1520), penultimate Aztec emperor before the Spanish conquest of Mexico. Most of his conquests included the present-day states of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Chiapas, on the southern Pacific coast. Note at the time, most of Mexico had city-states with their own government and culture; just like Greece during its Classical Period.

By 1517 he had conquered 48 city-states and over 450 towns and villages. The only dominions that were not conquered by the time contact with Europeans was established, included the Tlaxcalans and the Mixtecs.
