Deiphobus is the son of Priam and Hecuba the king and queen of Troy; After the death of Paris, the sons of King Priam, Helenus(Cassandra's twin) and Deiphobus, quarrelled as to which of them should marry Helen. Deiphobus won the quarrel and married Helen, but on the fall of Troy, Menelaus smote him in the belly, and poured forth his liver and guts. Helenus was allowed to go in exile.
