Oden was not a Greek God, but a Norse one who was worshipped by the Vikings, and is name is spelt 'Odin', not Oden. He was also worshipped by the pre-Christian Germanic peoples, and was considered to be the God of healing, knowledge and royalty, as well as of death, the gallows, battle, sorcery, poetry and the Runic alphabet. He was husband to the Goddess Frigg- the Anglo-Saxons worshipped him by the corrupted name of Woden, and the day of the week Wednesday was originally named 'Wodensday' in his honour.
