The story of Joseph in all probability is just that - a story. Many historians and archaeologists have tried to find links between the story of Joseph and information by Egyptian sources on the Exodus and the Pharaoh that ruled at the time, but without any succes. The Egyptians were great and detailed record-keepers, but no mention at all has ever been found of a viceroy called Joseph, nor of the ten plagues, nor of a whole population kept in slavery in Egypt, nor of a whole Egyptian army including the Pharaoh drowning in a freak flooding of the Red Sea. Nor is there any archaeological evidence that ever (litterally) has been dug up of what should have been a very extensive Jewish settlement in Egypt. Besides, Egypt never kept any large group of foreign people as slaves on their territory.
It is extremely likely that the "Exodus"- story was written much later with the aim of giving the various Jewish tribes a sense of common heritage and purpose, and to establish the 'divine' origin of Israel's laws. More of these semi-mythic stories on the origin of a people have been written in ancient history, and with the same purpose. Today, many historians think that the Jewish tribes lived a semi-nomadic life in Western Mesopotamia and gradually drifted west, finally settling in Palestine.
Farmers were incredibly unimportant, peasants and the Pharoah's eyes as worthless as slaves. Though the Pharoah would almost never come into contact with normal people if they did they prostrate themselves on the ground and kiss the ground beneath his feet. He would never ever speak to the Pharoah.

A country mile was originally coined in ancient Egyptian times, with the word 'country' loosely translated from the Egyptian word for "pharoah's land". Archaelogists have discovered ancient tablets referring to the 'pharoah's land distance' as the distance of all the pharoah's pyramids end to end. By today's measurement standards, a country mile is approximately 12,765 feet (US).

The Pharaoh during the time of Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) is not definitively identified by name in historical texts. However, Islamic tradition and some historical interpretations suggest that he was likely a ruler of Egypt during the Hyksos period, which was characterized by a foreign dynasty that ruled over Egypt. Yusuf's rise to power as a trusted advisor to the Pharaoh is highlighted in religious texts, reflecting his ability to interpret dreams and manage the famine crisis.
The prophet Joseph in The Bible was simply named Joseph, they didn't really have last names back then. Although he might be called Joseph son of Jacob, to distinguish him from others with the same name. Within Mormonism, there is another 'Prophet Joseph', Joseph Smith, Jr.
