Hephaestus was thrown off Mount Olympus by his mother, Hera, as a punishment for being born deformed and weak. In some versions of the myth, she was ashamed of his appearance and deemed him unworthy of divine status. After his fall, Hephaestus landed on the island of Lemnos, where he was raised by the Sintians and later became the god of blacksmiths and artisans.

Hephaestus, the Greek god of fire and craftsmanship, was thrown from Mount Olympus by his mother, Hera. According to mythology, Hera cast him out due to his perceived weakness and deformity at birth. He fell for an entire day before landing on the island of Lemnos, where he was cared for by the Sintians, a tribe of people who lived there. Many variations of this myth. Some say Hera through him off Olympus and Zeus covered for her but the general idea is that it is because Hephaestus was not pretty and the Olympian Gods were generally really vain. Meaning that they valued looks, Hephaestus was ugly therefore he was thrown from a mountain. There are different variations of course but this is the one I'm familiar with.

They are OLympian gods, which means they lived on Mt Olympus. However, Hephaestus spends most of his time in his smithy, possibly situated under Mt Etna.
his main enemy was hera who was his mom but she threw him off of mt olympus into the ocean. though he was saved and seeked revenge by sending hera a golden thrown and when sat in it she couldn't get out and so another god made him drunk to stop him and to release hera.
He has a seat there, but usually spends his days working in his smithy. It often thought to be under Mt Etna.
The Cyclopes didn't "build" Mt. Olympus. It's a mountain. It simply existed. The palaces on the mountain, though, were built by Hephaestus, and made from precious metals.
