How much do crickets eat?

In order to properly feed your cricket(s):

1. Place in a cap (from a coke bottle, milk jug, etc.) any of the following:

• dry dog food, cat food, rabbit pellets or chicken feed- ground up
• dry fish flakes
• bran
• wheat germ
• cornmeal

Keep one of these available all of the time.

2. In addition to the above, twice per week, give one of the following:

• lettuce
• apple slices
• carrot slices

Remove before food gets moldy.

3. In a separate part of the habitat, place another slightly larger cap. Place a cotton
ball soaked with water in it. This will provide water to drink. Change daily.
Make sure that there is no standing water anywhere so they do not drown.

Crickets will eat or drink anything that is available. They like to eat rotting plants, but also like fruits and fungus.

They eat just about anything from dog food to dead and weak crickets. They eat leteuce, potato, tomatoes, other garden greens,ants grass and other small bugs.
