There are some tell tale signs for male turtles...longer tails, longer claws on the front legs and an upwardly curving Plastron (the part of the shell on the underside of the turtle). These are all characteristics that help the male "cling" to the female during mating.
There are a number of things you can check, but most require comparing a male to a female and then you can see which is which. The one way that doesn't require that is to look at the bony plate covering the belly, which is called the plastron. On females, the plastron curves outwards (it's convex). On males, the plastron is curved inwards (it's concave). If you turn over a turtle, be careful and do that slowly, or you can injure them.
YES
how do i tell if my my turtle is a girl or a boy?...
The opening in the tail and it's proximity to the body. Closer to the body, the turtle's a girl, further out a boy.

The boy has a light shell and the girl has a dark shell
well a boy turtle has a small tail and girls have kind of a long tail
a gall or a lass
this is the real answerthe boy turtle has a long tail and long nails, the girl turtle has a short tail and short nails (I Have Four Painted Turles)
Yes. A boy turtle and a girl turtle have different types of shells
long tail...boy...short tail...girl
To find out a turtle's gender, you can check the length of their claws. If the claws are very long and have a black color it's male. If the claws have a light color and they are short it's female.
if it has a black back its a girl, its it has a orangy brown back it's a boy.
