Without exercise they can become over weight and have heart trouble which always leads to death.Some ways to provide exercise is a wheel or allowing them to run arround on the floor.

Then the gerbil will go inside if he wants those treats. (just saying, he might wait a bit) once he is inside it once, he will probably go in again!! =D
