Where do the fox stay?

In dense urban areas like mine foxes can tend to rest during the day in many different gardens and behind sheds and when disturbed will make a quick dash for it. Many of times i look out into the garden to see a little nose poking out from the hegde. And if i need to go outside its a little rustle of the bush the knocking of the fence behind and their gone. Foxes with the luxury of lots of open wild land would generally have a den.

Most foxes usually make a den by digging holes or burrows. They use the den for rest, taking care of their babies, and/or to protect themselves from predators. Foxes dig holes in areas with thick, crumbly dirt, or a place with a lot of thick plants. The dens that they use are sometimes referred to as "earths".
