Where does the kipunji live?

The kipunji, a species of monkey known scientifically as Rungwecebus kipunji, is found exclusively in the montane forests of Tanzania. Specifically, it inhabits the Southern Highlands, particularly in the Udzungwa and Nguru Mountains. This primate thrives in dense forest environments, where it primarily feeds on fruits, leaves, and flowers. Due to habitat loss and other threats, the kipunji is considered critically endangered.
