Why is animal overpopulation bad for plants and animals?

Bluefin tuna can produce 10 million eggs per year. The tailless tenrec of Madagascar has litters of up to 32 babies. The African driver ant can produce 3 to 4 million eggs every 25 days.

What could happen is that the species that prey on that animal could get more food and their population would go up and so on. There definitely could be something good that came out of that, more food for one specie. If something bad happened there would be not enough land or space provided. For example, if in a creek, the rabbits over populated then the coyotes would have more food and they would reproduce, but more coyotes means more rabbits killed. So when those coyotes are born, they need to eat and there are way less rabbits because of an accident.

If a certain species of animals overpopulated, these animals prey will become hunted more. For example if lions overpopulate, then antelope and zebras (anything lions usually eat) get hunted/killed a lot more. This might be good for the lion but bad for its prey. Its even worse if a deer overpopulate since plat life with decrease, then the food chain will get mess up and other animals that eat plat life (herbivores) won't get enough to eat now that deers are hogging all the food.

The destruction of the environment is a major cause for a decrease in animal populations. Also, over hunting by humans, of both the animal and the prey it lives on are another cause.
