Dogs are allowed to travel on the bus but it is the drivers discretion, if he doesn't like the look of your dog then its no! I think you have to pay a child's fee for your dog too but not 100% on that.

In Ottawa they probably won't let your dog on the bus unless he is a seeing eye dog.

If your dog doesn't look like it would attack any of his other passengers then the driver doesn't have a problem with letting you travel, another reason you might be refused is if it is rush hour and his bus is packed he might say no then but majority of the time the driver doesn't have a problem wi dogs

Are dogs allowed on New York City subways?

No. Animals are not allowed on New York City buses or subways, unless they are 1) contained in a proper carrier, or 2) service animals or police dogs. Since the animal must be small enough to fit in a container, large dogs are effectively prohibited from riding on buses or subways (unless, of course, they are a seeing-eye dog or a police dog). See the Related Link below for the MTA Rules of Conduct. Scroll down to the second part of section 1050.9, paragraphs 1 and 2. That is where it spells out the rules about animals on board.
