Indeed it is. They take their skin and fur and create an expensive coat for posh, rich ladies to wear. That is one of the GREATEST reasons why there are so many endangered animals and extinct! Take for example the tiger = it's skin is beautiful and many hunters think that too so they hunt them so now there are basically ZERO = 0 tigers left in the wild. Very sad don't you think?

They kill dogs for fur too.

There is no "the" problem, as there are multiple and diverse issues with the matter (economical, environmental, etc...), however since this is labeled under "Animal Right and Abuse", I'll summarize the ethical aspect of it.

Poaching, and/or breeding for use in fur farms is the exploitation of a variety of different sentient beings who are, quite literally, more or less perceptive to suffering than any human.

This means that the creature that gets electrocuted to death by an anal probe is no less the psychological center of their own world that you are of yours. So unless you are a skeptic who believes that their world is merely a simulation, you must logically accept that you can never rationally claim that that animal is no less aware of their suffering than your parents, your siblings, or your best friend could be if they were locked up in a cage, left to go insane, become a cannibal, and eventually be skinned alive.

As far as you can ever be aware, it's another sentient organism being abused, exploited, and painfully slaughtered for your benefit.

If that idea doesn't perturb you, then either you lack empathy, or you are a very stubborn speciesist.
