Only some Irish people have black hair. Others have red hair or blonde hair or other colours. Like any country, the people of Ireland are made of up of origins from many different countries. The first people to come to Ireland came from northern Spain, which explains the black hair, in the same way that Vikings coming to Ireland explains why some have blonde hair.

Irish people can have black hair due to genetic variation. The presence of certain genes in the Irish population can result in individuals having black hair. Additionally, intermixing with people from other regions throughout history can also contribute to the diversity of hair colors within the Irish population.

Why do people of Irish descent have blue eyes and black hair?

The original Irish came from what is now northern Spain after the last Ice Age. The Irish Y-DNA is very similar to that of the Basque people. The people of that region are usually dark-haired as many Irish are, light-skinned (when not tanned), and some have blue eyes as well as lighter shades of hair. The Irish seemed to have retained the dark hair but experienced a mutation in the eye color becoming lighter. As far as the Viking contribution, a study by McEvoy et al detected little trace of Scandinavian ancestry in the Irish male population. He suggests that Norse colonial settlements may have been largely composed of indigenous Irish. It more complex than Spain+Norway = Ireland.Previous answer:the Irish are a mixture of Meditteranean (Spanish in particular) and Scandanavian people (Vikings from Norway) which probably gives rise to the common Irish phenotype of dark hair, pale skin and blue eyes. This combination is not very common in many other countries, I am Irish and have this colouring. People comment on my appearance a lot when I travel and its only then when I realise how unusual it can look. Megan Fox, Patrick Dempsey, Pierce Brosnan, Lauren Graham, Ben Stiller and Mel Gibson are all people of Irish descent who exhibit this characteristic

Do all Irish people have freckles near there eyes?

No, I do not believe that all Irish people have freckles around their eyes. Everybody is different. the reason people getfreckles, is they are born with it, or they're out in the sun a lot. its HIGHLY POSSIBLE that lots of Irish people have them if you think that, but mostly because they are in the sun a lot and their parents had them, then their kids' had them, then their kids' had them etc.to where finally many people in Ireland might have freckles around they're eyes. But as far as i know, no, not all Irish people have freckles around their eyes.Another AnswerAccording to a Harvard University anthropological survey (Hooton) 40% of Irish had some degree of freckling and 60% had none at all.

What would happen if a black person used white people shampoo?

Shampoo is not formulated based on race, so a black person using shampoo designed for white people wouldn't have any significant impact. However, differences in hair texture and needs might influence the effectiveness or suitability of the product. It's always best to choose shampoos based on individual hair type and needs.

Where does red hair in a black person come from?

Red hair is caused by having two recessive genes. The English elite used English and Irish slaves in the carribean, before using Black people. Whites were a large majoirty for a long time before the importation of Black people. This touch of White in the Black population causes red hair to appear ocasionally in Afro carribeans. The Irish were used as indentured workers/slaves in America, where African Americans are 23% White. This also gave an opportunity for people to mix, hence red hair in African Americans.

What color hair do most Irish people have?

As most European populations, Irish are predominantly brown-haired. This is according to various anthropological studies done on various Irish populations at various times. One of them by the Harvard School of Anthropology proves that.Among adult males, 40% for dark-brown and 35% for medium brown, and 22% light brown to reddish. Concerning reddish hair, they are well among the highest in world around 10% for adults, but behind Scotland (13%). Due to the recessiveness of red hair, it usually masked by a dominant color which is brown. The proof is up to 46% of the Irish carry the recessive gene for red hair.Black hair in its pure state is rare in Ireland (3%), but added to the 40% of dark brown and you understand why some Irish were referred to by Americans as "Black Irish". (In a European and American context dark brown and black are often not differentiated; to the scientists 'black' hair cannot have any brown undertones.)Please see related links (forum and wikipedia) regarding hair colour and "black irish"
