So far it is believed that Homo Sapiens have been on Earth for approximately 200,000 to 250,000 years. However this estimation could change at any given time, should further evidence of Homo Sapiens being around earlier be found, which at the moment is looking unlikely.

Although Homo Sapiens showed up around 200,000 - 250,000 years ago, civilisation as we know it has only been around for about 6,000 years. So Homo Sapiens were around a long time before they became the civilised variant that we know today. Industrialisation of civilisation only begun around 215 years ago (from 2015) in the 1800's.
