We are humans (Homo sapiens), a member of the taxonomic order primates. In the order primates there are two main sub-orders: strepsirrhini (lemurs, lorises and bush-babies) and haplorhini (tarsiers, monkeys, apes and humans). We are all members of the same order based on certain synapomorphies (i.e., shared, derived traits) that distinguish us from other mammals, which is referred to as the 'primate pattern'. Some of these traits include: forward-facing eyes with stereoscopic vision, grasping hands and feet with opposable halluces and nails instead of claws, larger encephalization than other mammals, a long period of infant dependency and a tendency to give birth to singletons instead of litters, and so forth. As humans, we belonging to the suborder haplorhini. We certainly aren't monkeys as the last poster noted, nor did we 'evolve' from monkeys. Rather, share a last common ancestor with these other priamtes in our distant evolutionary past. The living apes (i.e., Hylobates, Pongo, Gorilla and Pan) shared a LCA with the lineage leading to our own genus at ~ 14, 7, 4 and 2 Mya, respectively.

Neanderthals are believed to have hunted in groups using weapons made from wood, stone, and bones. Because their shoulder sockets were narrow, they were not adapted to spear hunting in the way Cro-Magnon was. This meant that they could only effectively use short-range weapons to bring down large game. This was much more dangerous, and the fossil records show blunt trauma injuries were not uncommon.
No, Neanderthals did not use fossil fuels. They lived around 400,000 to 40,000 years ago, long before the use of fossil fuels became prevalent in human society. Neanderthals relied on fire for warmth, cooking, and protection.
From the lay studies I have conducted (readings), the earliest sign of civilization were found in the excavating of the village at Konya in Turkey. With an estimated population of 5-8000, scientific dating points to 7500-9000 BC. Interesting also, is the discovery only 100 miles north of Konya (12 miles into the Black Sea) near Sinope (also in Turkey). An underwater small village was discovered in 1999. It is dated 7500-8500 BC (both of these before the great flood). I persoanlly have faith in extensive findings such as these that are literal establishings and reference points in history. When dealing with isolated "findings" such as "Lucy" bones, the argument gets weaker and weaker til disintigration. The missing link is the same as it always has been....a "tweener" that has never been discovered.
They live in the Polar regions by wearing lots and lots of warm clothes, such as parkas, jumpers, gloves ect. they manage to survive by fishing for ermm.. fish obviously. and they have heaters (i think) to melt the ice of the fish. Hope this is enough for ya :) (im just learning about the polar regions in school now so i dont know much!)

It means that you (assuming that you are the person) don't fit what they regard as what is normal of Black people. "regular black person" to them is probably what they see on MTV and other media and hear in rap music with gangs and hos and fo'ties and cappin' da mo' fo' and all that crap. They are probably surprised that you (like most black people) don't fit that stereotypical image. I wouldn't go so far as to call them all out racist, but I would say that they need to wake up and realize that the way that they percieve Black people is flawed.

Yes, there are metaphors in William Jay Smith's poem "A Pavane for the Nursery." For example, the poem compares a child growing up to a bird taking flight, portraying the transition from a dependent state to one of independence. Additionally, the imagery of the nursery as a "chamber of dreams" and "kingdom of toys" serve as metaphors for the world of childhood innocence and imagination.

The Constitution provides that an amendment may be proposed either by the Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures. None of the 27 amendments to the Constitution have been proposed by constitutional convention. The Congress proposes an amendment in the form of a joint resolution. Since the President does not have a constitutional role in the amendment process, the joint resolution does not go to the White House for signature or approval. A proposed amendment becomes part of the Constitution as soon as it is ratified by three-fourths of the States (38 of 50 States).
