Acculturation is the process by which members of a cultural group adopt the belief or behaviour of another group while interculturation is the process by which cultural groups over a period of time and being in close contact with each other, engage in mutual exchange of cultural traits to produce a new culture or hybrid culture
Integration involves incorporating aspects of a different culture into one's own while still retaining aspects of one's original culture. Acculturation refers to the process of adopting the cultural traits or social patterns of another group. Integration is more about merging different cultures, while acculturation is about adopting aspects of another culture.
Cultural acquisition refers to the process by which individuals or groups adopt and incorporate aspects of another culture into their own. This can include beliefs, customs, traditions, language, art, and other cultural elements.
Anthropologists use the process of observation and documentation to learn the traits of other cultures. Anthropologists study a culture without bias and document the cultural traits and practices they see in order to find patterns within a culture.
'assimilation' is the process of becoming part of another culture.
Assimilation is normally the term that speaks to the process by which immigrants to another nation become part of the host nation's culture and values. This does not mean that they must forget their heritage. With that said, new immigrants will receive a warmer welcome if they seek to find common ground with their new host nation.
