It is most likely that humans first appeared in Africa because the earliest fossils have been found there. As to why Africa would be a place for humanity to begin their humble beginnings, it is hard to say. It could possibly be because the climate of Africa used to be more temperate than it is now, and the Sahara Desert wasn't always a desert, which meant that you could sustain life in central Africa without being in the proximity of the Nile River.

Africa was likely the place for humans to first appear due to its stable climate, availability of resources for survival, and geographic isolation which allowed for evolution to occur. The continent's diverse landscapes provided opportunities for different human species to adapt and thrive.
