All fasteners have a torque spec suggested by the manufacturer. You will find that information in the shop manual for the vehicle.
It is easier to do if you install the torque convertor to the transmission and then attempt to bolt it to the flywheel. You will have to turn the convertor or flywheel to line up the bolt holes.
No a rear main seal is the rear seal on the crank shaft of the engine. That portion of the engine is wear the crank shaft connects to the clutch and pressure plate (manual transmission) or where it connects to the torque convertor automatic transmission.
It is the ring gear and plate that conects your engine and automatic transmission's torque converter.
It is located between the back of the engine and the transmission. It houses the flywheel and clutch if it is a standard or the flex plate and the torque converter if it is an automatic transmission.
I believe that is called the torque converter
Mounted between the engine and the transmission. It houses the clutch/pressure plate on a manual transmission or the torque converter on an automatic transmission.
The fluid filled torque converter acts as a heavy flywheel when bolted to the thin flex plate.
I have never seen or heard of any 2 piece automatic flywheel (AKA, flex-plate). Your flex-plate must be broken in two. That I have seen before. Note, the flywheel on an automatic transmission is the torque converter.
A flex plate is the metal conector between the engine's crankshaft and your transmission's torque converter or clutch assembly. It "flexes" to take some of the initial force from the clutch or convertor and also aids in abating the vibration transferred between the two components.
Loose timing chain? Loose heat shield on catalytic converter?
A automatic has a flex plate and a tork converter.. A manual trans has flex plate and fly wheel...
drop your transmission if it is a manual you have to remove the clutch and pressure plate or automatic the torque converter has to be removed and it should be right there but its hard to get out some times
