More than likely you have a bad starter, I would suggest (if you have the tools) taking the starter out and having it tested at a local auto parts store.

Check you have fuel, check there is no kill switch and check that the electronic gizmo in the key is working correctly - it may need a new battery.

Need more info. But, there is a possibly that if there is any water in the gas tank, it will freeze up the fuel pick up. Use the proper fuel de-icer in the fuel tank and check it out. In the mean time, really need more info. What kind of car and engine Etc..

a battery acts like a pump, pushing the current through the wire !
Two pins for charging the battery, using the electricity and one acts as a temperature sensor; which indicates battery's temperature.
If the alternator was faulty then the old alternator will not have been charging the battery properly. Charge the battery using a battery charger (one that plugs into the mains) or get a jump start form another car and once you are going run the car for a time to recharge the battery.
