as a Ford technition your prob is prob. the triger wire, which is the wire from the stater sol to the starter (small wire) which has a slide on connection on the starter, remove wire and clean the corrison and reinstall and it will be fine
The starter is located just behind the top end of the engine. I have a '99 king quad. Mine solenoid clicks too. I thought it was a loose wire because sometimes it would turn over but I took it in and was told i need a new stARter. they run about $75.
start with checking the battery, next check the solenoid, next check the starter motor.then check ignition switch
It could be the battery. If not try tapping the starter with a hammer. Not hard enough to crack the housing but hard enough that it might unstick the starter from the flywheel. If this works you might want to change the starter. If not it would have to be the solenoid.
The single click, that you hear when the starter switch is operated, is the solenoid making the high tension connection to the starter motor. If the starter motor doesn't turn over, you will need to check both the battery feed to the solenoid and the feed from the solenoid to the starter motor (this is typically a short length of braided cable). I have known this cable to corrode through. If it has, the easiest remedy, is to replace the entire starter motor.
Could be,low battery, loose or dirty battery connections, starter is bad, starter solenoid is bad, neutral safety switch bad or out of adjustment, starter relay is bad,
== == Try tapping on the solenoid(smaller cylinder attached to starter) while someone tries to start it. If it starts then the solenoid is bad and the entire starter solenoid needs to be replaced.
It's your starter solenoid. Toys are hard to replace just the solenoid. replace the starter!!!!!
either clean and tighten cable connections or get battery tested. if not the battery, it is the solenoid or the starter If it is clicking and not starting at first, but starts after a few tries, its your starter taking a dump. Replace it.
Put a stethoscope or a plastic tube onto the solenoid, listen at it while a friend turns the starter. If solenoid clicks it is good. -Problem then is low battery or dud starter.
bad solenoid in the starter or insufficient voltage to the starter
sounds like the starter solenoid is going bad. had this happen on my car. very common in prizms. get it fixed soon while the car still starts...
sounds like the starter solenoid, you will have to replace the starter
Your problem is the starter solenoid. It may be a remote solenoid mounted on the inner fender well. You can easily check it by running a battery booster cable from the positive battery post to the starter side of the solenoid wiring (the heavy wiring). If the starter operates, the solenoid is bad.
Have the starter tested at your auto parts store. Sounds like a bad solenoid or bad starter.

Look for loose connections at the battery, starter solenoid, starter and switch. If all connections are good, the starter solenoid probably needs to be replaced.
The starter solenoid/relay switch is going bad. Eventually, it will just click and not start.
