if you were handy with a welder you could fit any turbo to any engine, but that does not go to say that it will work, if you don't drop the compression ratio then you will get detonation and all sorts of problem, depending on what your going to turbo, you'd need a remap, different injectors, the timing would need adjusting,
you cant just attach a turbo to the exhaust put the outlet/boost pipe on the manifold and expect it to work (might be a little easier for an older engine with a carb as you could run bigger jets and twiddle with the dizzy
Pretty much any engine can be equipped with a turbo, but if it's fairly average car that's also available in a turbo version the sensibe thing is to get one with the turbo already installed. It's not only a turbo you need, but quite a lot of other bits as well, getting it all together can be real pricey.
Can you? Yes, any engine swap is possible if you have enough money. My question is why? Just get a twin turbo, a good cam and reset your EFI

You can add turbo to any engine if you are willing to upgrade the engine properly. Turbo kits are generally rather expensive. Although they typically include everything needed to install the turbo itself, it isn't an easy task. Welding could be required. Drilling into the oil pan could be required. It is recommended to have a turbo kit installed by a professional.
