Can the hole in the Ozone layer be fixed?

There is not actually a hole in the ozone layer but it is the thinning of ozone layer below a certain level. However the ozone in the ozone layer gets depleted and repaired by itself through natural phenomenon. However due to the use of CFC's by the human beings the rate of depletion has increased than the rate of repairing and thus the levels of ozone are falling down at a continues rate.

No, the hole cannot be fixed. Nature makes a hole at the pole that is experiencing winter, no choice. All we can do is try to avoid thinning the ozone layer abnormally, one symptom of which is making the natural ozone hole larger (the bigger problem is the global arrival of more UV-B from our Sun at Earth's surface).

You can increase the amount of ozone in the ozone layer (and make the ozone hole smaller) by:

• Avoiding consumption of oxygen at high altitude (aircraft, scramjets).
• Avoid depositing water vapor at high altitude (rockets, aircraft, scramjets).
• Cease adding small amounts of compounds to the air that serve to decay ozone and not be affected by the decay (freon-12 for example of a chlorofluorocarbon).
• Avoid adding compounds to the air that are directly oxidized by ozone (sulfur compounds proposed to reflect sunlight back into space).
• Actively scan new compounds to be sure they are not ozone depleters.

You can reduce the amount of ozone in the ozone layer (and make the ozone hole larger) by:

There will always be a "thin spot", and it will evermore be called a "hole". Maybe it does not have to be as broad as it recently has been, and Nature will eventually consume what we have placed up there to assist in its "broadening".

However, a developing research suggests that the ozone hole can be fixed by discharging oxygen gas to depleted parts of the ozone layer using battery powered unmanned aircrafts, oxygen gas discharged will join in combination and dissociation reactions that naturally occur in the stratosphere for protection against harmful UV rays.
