Yes, but with any wood surface that you stain you must have a clean surface. If you have removed all the old paint and you are down to bare wood then you probably should brush on Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner, Minwax runs about 10-11 bucks a quart. If ANY paint or primer is left on wood you will get spots that will only show up after you stain so make sure it is clean and bare.
No. I don't know what type of stain your using, but most stains allow the wood grain to remain visible. This means that you'll have to completely strip all of the paint before staining.
YThere is a shiny spot where you painted over a water stain on a textured ceiling because of reflection. I used original kilz on this stain it still shows,I have been a professional painter for 30 years and have not seen this happen. Are there any other explanations out there?thanks
Formica will not accept stain, however it can be primed and painted after sanding.
No! First It depends what type of pain you painted on your deck! It can if its a natural juice like Grape juice. Wood is a very obsorant material and it'll suck up whatever it can. However if your deck has a wood stain on it that you'll be fine. Or if its painted or if you have a water seel on it.
The stain or paint is rubbed into the pores of the wood and then let dry completely. "Rubbed in" not painted on with a brush or roller.
It depends on the stain. If it is a water base stain then no. If it is a oil or solvent base it should be fine.
yes you can stain it with a glaze.

If a wooden rocking chair has never been painted, then it is quite easy to stain. You simply buy the stain of your choice and brush it on. However, if you have to remove old paint, then it will require some sanding and stripping.
A Painted House was created in 2003.

I painted for 13 years and can tell you the hazards of painting your house are mostly depending on the age and how long it has been since painted last. You have the dangers of lead if has not been painted since 70s, the only other possible dangers I can warn you of is falling off ladders or getting dirty with paint.

to get an egg stain off of a concrete driveway, go to your local pool supply and get a bottle of muratic acid.be careful not to get any on yourself, children or pets. pour the acid on the stain and let set,if you desire, you could use a stiff broom to get the stain off. as for the door, it will need to be sanded and re-painted, if you have thew same paint on the door, you can just redo the area where the stain is at
Depends on the type and use of the furniture. I wouldn't want a nice table to be painted when I could stain it and bring out beautiful wood patterns.
I asked somebody to paint my house and he did and it means that My house was painted by someone I had / got something done (by someone)
