It is not necessary to use a primer for interior walls, but using one helps with adhesion and smoothness of the paint.
Yes, but it's not as good as drywall primer, and will probably give less coverage.
If the white is glossy, I would use a white primer. If not, then I would put paint colour directly/
So far, so good! I have used Kilz (Original) as a primer for oil on canvas painting since the mid 90's. Given the high cost of gesso, I turned to it as an alternative. No sign of color fade, paint flaking, etc... But I still wonder about it's tack and cohesion, over more time. I am a believer of it as a poor man's gesso. Furthermore, I would not be surprised if it held up longer.
The first layer of paint. Usually a special kind. When painting a wall you use primer then the color you want.
I don't think so, as gesso usually contains absorbants like calcium or talc and this mixture you propose would not contain them.

Well it's better than nothing, but quite possibly not as thick or well covering as primer is. If your wall is already white or even a pale colour, it won't make a lot of difference. If the wall is new drywall, or a dark colour you shouldn't use this.
You should carefully inspect the wall board for any damage. If the paper "skin" of the wall board has peeled off with the wall paper, you will have to patch that before you can paint. Otherwise, I would recommend a good quality latex primer.
Yes, but it isn't as easy to paint.

No. Never use primer to change wall colors. I once bought a house that was just renovated. Everything was nice; but the walls. The renovators cheaped out and just covered the walls in white primer, it made them all feel like sandpaper.
Orange. Why are you using a primer? If the walls are already painted, just apply 2 coats of the paint that you want to use. If you use primer, have the paint store tint the primer toward the orange color that you have chosen.
A good oil based primer, then an oil based concrete paint.
