∙ 14y agoNo one knows. They kiss in the Time Paradox but only because Holly becomes a teenager again during the leap back through time. After Artemis tells her he lied to her she regrets it but they even it up again. She said the only thing they can have now is respect and friendship but who knows? I think Eoin is planning a relationship between them (even though they are of two different species) but we won't know until the next book comes out.

Why did Holly Short kiss Artemis Fowl?
They met "where land, twisted tree, and water meet" somewhere in Ireland. Artemis was looking for a fairy to kidnap, and since he deciphered the Book, he knew to go there. Then he approached Holly, who tried to hypnotize Artemis with the mezmer, but since he was wearing mirrored sunglasses, it failed. Artemis then kidnapped her and said he'd release her for one metric ton of gold. Though, after Holly saved his mother, Artemis let her go. They have since become friends and, in the latest book, Holly and Artemis (who is by then about 17) develop an... interest for each other, though that is put on hold when they have to do the whole "save the world" thing.

She is a little sheepish but really liked it, and Artemis who she started calling Arty. And remember towards the end of the book Holly Short said "In another time." and then she kissed Artemis on the cheek.
