They met "where land, twisted tree, and water meet" somewhere in Ireland. Artemis was looking for a fairy to kidnap, and since he deciphered the Book, he knew to go there. Then he approached Holly, who tried to hypnotize Artemis with the mezmer, but since he was wearing mirrored sunglasses, it failed. Artemis then kidnapped her and said he'd release her for one metric ton of gold. Though, after Holly saved his mother, Artemis let her go. They have since become friends and, in the latest book, Holly and Artemis (who is by then about 17) develop an... interest for each other, though that is put on hold when they have to do the whole "save the world" thing.

But besides that, I'm going to use my analyzing skills to give you some implied detail! Yay! Sorry If I creep you out, by the way.
Soo, to start off, when we flash back to little Artemis and Butler, Butler makes a comment: "It looks like we have a while"
Also, (little) Artemis says "Look at those two, wasting time."
So I can easily confirm that this kiss lasted a while.
In addition, when we get back to Artemis and Holly, it reads "the sparks faded, along with the dreamlike trance insulating Artemis's mind."
So I'm guessing, based off of this, and other evidence in the text, that this was no little peck on the lips. It may or may not have been a full-on make-out. I sure do hope so.

∙ 12y agoWhen they were traveling back to the present during The Time Paradox, their matter mingled and their eyes were swapped. Holly used her magic to make the eyes the right size, as fairies are smaller than humans. They each had one blue and one hazel eye. The swap happened at the same time as Artemis took some of Holly's magic, making him the first known magical human.
