It really depends on the horse, his/her mood, and his/her training.
Most of them yes, are very gentle, but some could have an abusive past, making them mean, but, really they are just scared.
Horses may hae a thick winter coat, but when it gets really cold a horses can develop what is called hypothermia. When a horses heart and lungs start to shut down. I'd say keep a quarter horse between 55-96 degrees. Maybe... but im no expert try a vet if your not sure. answered by a 12 yr. old Girl
The most common color of an American Quarter horse is sorrel (a brownish red, which is part of th color group called chestnut by most other breed registries) But they do come in nearly all colors.
Not really, A horse is considered a senior at age 15 but many horses live into their late twenties and early thirties.
yes but most horses do
Quarter horses are named that because they can run a Quarter of a mile really fast. They had races in the old days for a quarter of a mile and they would use Quarter horses for them. Now Quarter Horses aren't as popular for racing, because Thoroughbreds have better stamina.

It really depends... If both parents were pure quarter horses then it will have quarter horse traits. It one parent was trotter/quarter horse, it may show trotting characteristics. In other words if one or both parents were not pure quarter horses, the baby can have characteristics from any species of its parents... probably mostly quarter horse though.
A horse that can Piaffe is the slowest. A piaffe is a trot in place. That would be the Quarter Horse. I ride/show Quarter Horses and Saddlebreds. People think ponies are the slowest, but really they're probably the fastest. Poneies can throw you off in a minute. Hope this helps!!
Quarter Horses are really great!
They are relatively smart, but it really depends on each individual horses personality and learning style.
The quarter horse was first bred in the United States. The eastern colonists breed Thoroughbreds with the native breeds to make "Quarter Mile Horses" (bred to race 1/4 mile). These "Quarter Mile Horses" were bred with other native horses that had "cow sense" as the colonists expanded west. Although this quick breed with cow sense started to really hold its own name in the mid 1800s, the American Quarter Horse Association (and the breed registry it runs) wasn't founded until 1940.

"Main breeds" really depends on where you live. Main breeds of horses in the USA and Canada, for example, are thoroughbreds, arabians, quarter-horses, morgans, clydesdales, etc.
