The most common color of an American Quarter horse is sorrel (a brownish red, which is part of th color group called chestnut by most other breed registries) But they do come in nearly all colors.

It depends if it is a pure breed quarter horse or a cross breed. Pure quarter horses usually range between browns and chestnuts but i recommend that u look up quarter horse color chart and that might give you a better answer. :)
