You most certainly can, and a lot of artists prefer to buy big bottles of primary colors, and then mix their own secondary colors in smaller bottles just due to the fact that it's more economical in the long run. However, it's not really advisable to consolidate all of your partial reds into one bottle though, as they will undoubtedly all be slightly different, and may give you a funky result. There isn't really an issue of sterility with this though, since they are in the sterile bottles to begin with, but still...where there's a chance of cross contamination, it's never a good idea and should not be done.
no you do not
For this, you will add very small amounts of black ink to the red and thoroughly mix the two until you come to a hue that you are happy with. Other than this, you can simply buy the shade of ink that you are wanting to save yourself the time. If you do mix the ink yourself, write down and keep notes on how many drops you added to the ink that gave you the desired shade so you don't have to go through the process all over again if you are mixing the ink per tattoo as opposed to mixing it by bottle.
mix glue with black ink
the best Pigments (we do not use Ink ) is the pigment your artist likes to use if your a scratcher you have no biz asking the world of tattooers on here what the best brand is.. get an apprenticeship Man and you'll know all the answersAnswerIts people like the guy above that make it impossible to get a straight answer on these things! I was on here also looking for what was considered the best tattoo ink, not for career advice. Who said this guy was a "scratcher", just because he didn't get an apprenticeship? I learned how to sling ink in prison from some of the best artists you will ever see, and not one of them ever went through an apprenticeship. As a matter of fact, I'd bet their skills against 95% of the artists in your so called "world of tattooers"! Get off your high horse, your not in a secret club of elite members, Geez! That being said, I don't need an apprenticeship, I know how to tattoo, I'd just like to get away from making my own ink. Its takes a long time and I'd like to start using more color in my work. Can any one tell me what is the best brand of ink to use?AnswerIt varies from person to person and shop to shop. There is no single great tattoo ink, I personally have three tattoo inks in me and they have all yielded satisfactory results.

Bloodlining is used when people dont want an outline for their tattoo (like a smoky effect). It also comes in use during white ink tattoos, because a stencil ink would mix with the white ink and corrupt the tattoo.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! If you must go the no budget route, burn wood till it's a pile of non-lumpy black, and then grind it to a fine powder, then mix it with baby oil. But you should come up off the cash for real ink.
