There is not a universal answer for this question. Depending in the jurisdiction in which the business is in, you must check with your local town or city agency which might be involved in issuing permits for such events - especially your local Fire Marshall's Office which may be concerned about the capacity limitations and fire exits of the building.

ya just have to hire a dj to play some music and hire out a big area to use as a dancefloor. its beat to just hire a club for a night cos the will already have lights. so get a club, a dj and loads of drinks! and ur set to invite whoever ya want!
First you have to have talent, you have to know somthing about music and you have to love it. Next you can either buy yourself a dj set and take tutorel lessons on youtube or any other site or you can go to the school for DJ's located in Washington (it's the only one I know of)Then once you have experience start playing at clubs and other places like parties, and work your way up to become a Dj pro at Tomorow Land;) Good luck!
As of July, 2014, DJ Ironik is currently 26 years of age. His birthday is on January 18, 1988. He's a British DJ and rapper.
He is a well known dj. He did a lot of mixtapes for Drake as well as other artists.
Look online for some local DJs then call them and ask them if they'd be interested in whatever you need them for and if they're interested ask them for a list of songs they have and to meet up for an interview. During the interview discuss rates and all of that. Good luck! My friends just hired a DJ for their wedding and he's apparently great!
The only license required for a DJ business is the actual license to do business, which can be obtained from your local City Hall. I also recommend registering the name under which you do business with the State in which you live. You do not need any ASCAP licenses to music rights or anything of the like. Nik Wong Owner/Operator, Playmaker DJ Service playmakerdjs.weebly.com Actually in some circumstances, you do need ASCAP licenses. If you play major venues, usually the owner pays the fees to keep from having a lawsuit filed.

Yes, you need a DJ headphones to DJ effectively. A DJ headphones is used to listen to the next song that a DJ will play. It is important because a DJ need to beat match and time the transition flawlessly and in order to do that a DJ needs a DJ headphones.

To the best of my knowledge, a DJ license is only required in the UK, and not in the USA however, I don't know about how copyright issues are handled.
Driving along with a DJ license in New York is illegal. If you are caught doing it, your DJ will be suspended for 60 days and you will have to begin all over again.
Disk Jockeys do indeed need a licence (and need to pay a fee for this licence) to play music which is copyrighted. If the DJ is playing at a club it will be the club that holds/pays the performance licence not the DJ. However if the DJ is setting up and playing music in public the DJ will need to purchase his/her own licence. When music is played in pubic the artist who makes the music needs to be paid for their work!
