It is needed by our body to carry out a significant process called respiration. Respiration is carried out as cell level and is often confused with normal breathing. Plants also need oxygen for respiration (note: oxygen is NOT needed for photosynthesis).

How does the atmosphere keep oxygen inside?

Inside what? Oxygen is part of the atmosphere. The thermal velocity of its molecules are insufficient to escape earth's gravity (unlike hydrogen molecules which are fast enough).

How does earth atmosphere make conditions on earth on suitable for living things?

REASON ONE: ATMOSPHERE Earth has a breathable atmosphere. Oxygen is the gas that is required for the life of most creatures. This is present in Earth's atmosphere, along with nitrogen, and in water, along with hydrogen. Oxygen is constantly put into the atmosphere by plants and trees. Fortunately, Earth's atmosphere does not contain much carbon dioxide, a poisonous gas which makes up most of the atmosphere of planets like Venus and Mars. In densely-populated areas, carbon dioxide is more present. This is because cars and factories produce it. This causes the air to be polluted. The Earth's atmosphere is kept on the planet by its pull of gravity. Mars and Mercury are too small to keep atmosphere. As a result, Mercury has no atmosphere, and Mars' atmosphere is very thin, containing gases which have not managed to escape into space yet. Earth's atmosphere is thick enough to prevent poisonous rays of radiation from getting through it (this is what has happened on Mars).

Earths gravity as a percentage?

enough to keep us on it

Trees and other plants Which are important natural resources provide us with what?

Plants provide us with oxygen, shade, and their roots help to keep soil from eroding.

Why do people believe that preservation of the Amazon rain forest is a global concern?

People think it is a major concern mainly because it "IS" a major concern for those of us who would like to keep breathing the oxygen in earths atmosphere, and for those who would like their grand children to have free oxygen available via the earths biosphere.

What is the advantage of microorganisms?

the advantage of micro organisms is that they help to keep the balance in the atmosphere. micro organisms use nitrogen like humans use oxygen, so nitrogen is 71% in the atmosphere and oxygen 21% and carbon dioxide 0.04% so with the help these of organisms there is a balance in the air that's why they are called important

Animals help keep the gases in the atmosphere in balance by?

Plants and animals help to maintain a balance of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere by cellular respiration and photosynthesis. Photosynthesis releases oxygen and cellular respiration releases carbon dioxide.

How did lots of oxygen then get into the atmosphere?

Plants They take in carbon dioxide Then keep the carbon to grow and give out oxygen

How does the paint on a car help to keep it from rusting?

It covers the steel, which is mostly iron, so that it is not exposed to oxygen in the air. Rust is iron oxide, a compound formed when iron reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere. If the steel is not exposed to oxygen, it will not rust.

What two things does momentum count on to keep in act?

Respiration and photosynthesis keep the levels of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the atmosphere?

fairly constant
