Both Nicotine and Caffeine cause temporary increases in heart rate. Alcohol can, but does not always, indirectly cause a temporary increase in heart rate due to relaxed blood vessels resulting in the heart needing to pump harder and faster to overcome the lower blood pressure.
It depends on the quantity consumed / used.
Well, to be specific, caffeine (like most psychoactive drugs) exerts its effect on us by altering the activity of some of our neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are the nervous system's way of conveying messages between neurons, and also to muscle tissue. Some neurotransmitters that caffeine is known to increase the activity of are norepinephrine, dopamine, and serotonin. The increase in norepinphrine is likely what causes the heart rate to increase, however each of these neurotransmitters has some stimulatory effects. Norepinephrine, however, is a powerfully stimulating neurotransmitter; it is associated with the 'fight or flight' response, which of course includes an increased heart rate. I believe it may effect epinephrine as well, which is similar to nor epinephrine except that it is also a hormone (and a neurotransmitter). This means it has both short and long lasting stimulatory action.

Caffeine, by a wide margin. Marijuana is addictive over long-term heavy use. Caffeine users can become addicted in a matter of a few weeks. (We know that we will get comments from people who do not want to believe marijuana is addictive. We have worked with recovering addicts for years, and can assure you from personal observation of many patients that THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, exhibits all of the characteristics of an addictive drug in heavy users.)
Stimulants, such as caffeine and nicotine. Amphetamines such as Ritalin are also considered more potent and psychoactive stimulants. Meth and MDMA are also stimulants often used recreationally. Stimulants are "uppers" that speed up the CNS.
It increases your heart rate, hence can increase your blood pressure. When a person sleeps, their heart rate slows down. Caffeine does the opposite of that. Caffeine can cause heart palpitations, which are very bad for you. Also, having 'super-coffees' before work can leave you halfway through your shift with chronically shaking hands... trust me, I've done that more than once... >.<
Alcohol causes you to become disoriented. Marijuana makes you sleepy. If you drive while on alcohol you cant control the car or your speed. Marijuana can make you drive slower.

The caffeine increase heart rate which put unnecessary pressure on the heart to supply more blood that is not present in the body. this can damage the heart over time.

It is definitely not safe. Caffeine exacerbates the already dangerous physical stimulation caused by methamphetamine. A good way to think about it is that meth alone boosts your heart by 1 and caffeine alone boosts your heart by 1, but combining them boosts your heart by 6. Sort of like how small amounts of opioids and alcohol are far more dangerous than either drug alone.
Dogs are more sensitive to the effects of caffeine than people are. They shouldn't be given products that contain caffeine, such as soda, cocoa, or energy drinks. Mild signs of caffeine poisoning would be slight restlessness or a minimally elevated heart rate. In a severe case of caffeine poisoning, the dog could collapse, or have seizures.
