Nuclear energy does and does not benifit us. It benifites us my giving us a huge amount of energy(electricity)! One gramp of split Uranium or Plutonium can gives the same amount of energy as 20 tons of burned coal! However, people use this immense energy to raze places. Only 10 kilograms of plutonium is needed to make an Atomic Bomb.

Summary: Nucler energy has pros and cons

What is the energy conversion process of nuclear?

The energy conversion process of nuclear energy involves the release of binding energy, otherwise known as the strong atomic force, one of the four forces in play in this universe - the other three being the weak atomic force, the electromagnetic force, and gravity. Binding energy holds atoms, particularly protons and neutrons, together. When we split an atom during nuclear fission (the most common form of man-made nuclear energy, or fuse atoms during nuclear fusion (not so common because of the technical problems in doing so), the end result is a loss of mass. Per Einstein's theory, this mass is converted back and forth to and from energy using the famous equation e = mc2. Since c2 is a very large term, 9 x 1016, the mass/energy ratio is enormous. In most nuclear power plants, this energy release comes in the form of heat, and is used to boil water to make steam, which spins turbines that make electricity.

What happens to the mass that is lost during fusion?

Mass that is "lost" durning nuclear fusion is converted into binding energy to hold the newly formed atomic nucleus together. The lost mass, which is termed mass deficit, means the nucleus of the newly formed atom has less mass than the sum of the masses of the protons and neutrons that make up that nucleus. The stong reaction (strong nuclear force) participitates in the fursion reaction by mediating the conversion of mass into nuclear binding energy (or nuclear glue). It converts into the energy that is the desired end product of the reaction.

How does the sun provide a major energy source for Earth?

through nuclear reactions that occur at the core of the sun. it radiates that energy until it reaches the earth.

Compare the energy of a 1-megaton hydrogen bomb to the energy released by a major earthquake?

A magnitude 8 earthquake releases approximately the same energy as a 15 megaton nuclear explosion (e.g. Castle Bravo test in 1954). This is the same as fifteen 1 megaton nuclear explosions. Note: the photo above is of a 0.5 megaton nuclear explosion.

What is a benefit of using nuclear energy?

It does not pollute and is a very cost-effective energy source.

What is the benefit of nuclear fusion and What is one thing nuclear fission and nuclear fusion have in common?

The benefit of nuclear fusion is its potential to provide a virtually limitless and clean energy source with minimal environmental impact. One thing nuclear fission and nuclear fusion have in common is that they both involve the release of energy by altering the nuclei of atoms, although through different processes.
