Poster paint is water-based (and made to be used on paper or card) and does not stick very well on plastic, which is non-absorbent.
If on poster paper, it's usually dry within an hour.
mostly depends on the type of plastic and its surface if its flexible plastic, then the paint will split and crack when the plastic is flexed you can use a paint flexibilizer additive if you need to if the surface of the plastic is very smooth, the paint will not be able to stick to it. if its appropriate, lightly sand the surface to give it what painters call "tooth" it just roughs up the surface a little bit to the paint wont just slide off it when dry there any many types of plastics and some are very tricky to paint
Yes! I have used both combinations of wall paint in poster paint & vice versa..I used one to tint the other in each instance & noticed that it affected the adhesion as well as the ability to block stains if adding poster paint to wall (white-ish) paint..by adding wall paint to poster paint it made poster paint stick better, flow from brush better, & require fewer coats..all of this while using a high quality acrylic wall paint..
Yes, use paints that are labeled for plastic.
Just add water and rub it with your paint brush.

Vinyl or plastic based paint.
To write on plastic permanently, you can use permanent markers or acrylic paint. Make sure the plastic surface is clean and dry before writing on it. Allow the ink or paint to dry completely before handling the plastic to prevent smudging.
Plastic paint, like acrylic paint, cannot be cleaned with water or any chemical. Acrylic paint can only be cleaned with a clean, dry cloth.
My poster/print has textual and graphic elements including a written signature in paint. Is this a poster or print?

To paint plastic pumpkins effectively, start by cleaning the surface with soap and water. Then, apply a primer specifically designed for plastic to help the paint adhere better. Use acrylic paint for best results, applying thin layers and allowing each coat to dry completely before adding another. Finish with a clear sealant to protect the paint.
