If you do not mind getting your hands dirty any one can do it. Not being an American I am not familiar with this vehicle, or even heard of it. Having said that, let us start. Go to your favourite supercheapautomart, purchase gasket, replacement oil and whatever.

Place car on ramps or stands on concrete surface, never even put your finger-nails under a car on a jack alone. Remove drain plug from pan and drain oil into suitable vessel. Clean pan and fixing screws with kerosine and brush, and dry. Now you can see what needs to be done. Remove screws leaving one screw in one end and finish with one at other end. Support pan with one hand and remove remaining screws with other hand. Clean everything, inside oil pan, remove every trace of old gasket from both surfaces. Carefully press the lugs of the new gasket into the relevant cut-outs in pan. Push pan into place and replace screws finger tight. Now, nip up the screws bit by bit ,one screw at one end, one at the other, then one in the middle and so on, to ensure even pressure. Replace drain plug and oil to required level. You're done, test drive around the block and then check oil level. Adjust as required

Can a novice Change a manifold gasket on a Mazda B 2500 2005?

Changing out a manifold gasket can be a difficult job for a novice. However, that is not to say that a mechanically-inclined novice cannot do it. A good repair manual with step-by-step procedures, such as Hayne's or Chilton's, is a valuable assett for any "novice" mechanic. After removing the cylinder head, it might be wise to have it examined for warpage at a machine shop - especially if the gasket blew due to overheating - and have it resurfaced. Get a valve job done on it while it is there.

Very difficult. The aluminum engine cradle must be dropped several inches on the right (passgr) side just to gain access. the Mitchell Guide rates this job at about 4.2 hrs, and in my opinion should not be attempted by a novice mechanic.

How hard is it to change the head gasket on a jeep liberty?

Replacing ANY head gasket is a labor intensive job. It involves removing many bolts and connections and then re installing them with the proper amount of torque. You will also have to drain, flush and refill the coolant system. It is NOT a job for a novice. I recommend taking it to a certified shop or dealer.
