How to remove a radiator
According to the Haynes manual, the thermostat is located by follwing the lower radiator hase from the radiator back to the engine. The housing for the thermostat is bolted on the side of the engine block facing the radiator.
my understanding, as for most repairs on the newer VW is to remove the front bumper and grille of the car. it sounds cumbersome and overwhelming but it's actually not that bad of a procedure. i have a 1996 jetta and it takes me 20 minutes to remove the grille and bumper.
never heard of a radiator cord - is that something you pull to get it started ??
