You will need to remove the inside door panel of your 2002 VW Jetta. Remove the wiring harness from the mirror. Remove the side view mirror retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new side view mirror.

Ok this person really didn't answer your question at all, I am pretty confident that you know that you can take it to the dealership. What you have to do is take off the door panel on the inside. Once that is off, you can locate the mounting bracket behind the mirror assembly. Also you will find the wiring assuming that your mirror is electric. I hope that this actually helps you.
