How do you remove stencil paint from wall?

Generally speaking, stencil paint is not removed from the walls so much as the walls are prepped and re-painted. A light sanding, to smooth any places where the stencil paint sits proud (appreciably higher than the surface it's on) and to give the surface tooth (something for the primer to hold on to). one coat of a good primer, over the entire wall or well feathered at the edges if the top coat of paint is an exact match. This evens the surface, as well as covers any dark or very bright colours in the stencil from showing through. And one or two coats of paint to match the original wall colour.

If however you are trying to remove a small spot of stencil paint dripped or smeared in the "wrong" place, the sooner you get to it the better chance you will have to remove it completely... Check the container you have been using and follow the manufacturer's directions.

Stencil paint is very thick and often in bright colors. It can be tricky to deal with and will probably bleed through if you try to cover it. You don't quite remove them in the sense you are thinking. Cleaners and such aren't going to do the trick. This is what I found worked best when getting rid of old stencilings in my last home. It is a bit of a project though!

For painted drywall:

First use a fine grit sand paper and sand the area down smooth and flush with the wall. It is likely all the paint will not be removed. Just concentrate on getting any bumps, brush strokes, or texture removed and everything being quite flat. You shouldn't feel anything when you run your hand over it.

Once you have everything all smooth paint over the area with Kilz primer. Once it is dry, Kilz will seal the coloration in underneath it. It will work best to use two coats. Kilz is available at home improvement stores such as Home Depot or Lowe's.

After your area is all prepped you can go ahead and do your painting with the color and paint type type of your choice.
