Raise the blade end of the arm off of the windshield and move the slide latch away from the pivot shaft. This will unlock the wiper arm from the pivot shaft and hold the blade end of the arm off of the glass at the same time. The wiper arm can now be pulled off of the pivot shaft without the aid of any tools. When installing the wiper arm, the arm must be positioned properly. There is a measurement which can be made to determine the proper blade positioning. With the wiper motor in the PARK position, install the arm so that the distance between the blade-to-arm saddle and the lower windshield molding is 44-76mm (1.7-3.0 in.) on the passenger's side, and 48-80mm (1.9-3.1 in.) on the driver's side. pull the wiper up off the glass hold it in this position use a screw driver to lift the small tab at the bottom of the arm at the pinot point lift the wiper arm off to replace bend the arm as you did to remove it and snap it back on very easy

How do you replace the wiper motor on a 1989 Ford F150?

First you have to remove the wiper arms. Then remove the cowl plate between the windshield and the hood (screws will be in the top of the plate and inside the hood). This will give you access to the back of the wiper motor. There you will find a clip holding the wiper arm mechanism to the motor shaft. Remove the clip and the arm mechanism. Now remove the connectors and take the nuts off the front of the wiper motor. It will pull off the firewall. Reverse procedure to install new one.

How do you change the wiper assembly on a 1998 Ford F-150?

Remove the grill around the wipers, make sure to get all the screws, some are hard to find, but when you get all the screws the grill lifts off and exposes the wiper assembly. Remove wiper arms, nuts are under a cap at the base of the wiper arm. Unplug the electric assembly. Remove all mounting bolts from the wiper assembly and it will lift out. This works for a 2000 f150 so it is probably the same for 1998.
