The long, tubular ones usually rotate and slide out. The curly ones have standard light fittings. Remember to dispose of the old bulb in a designated re-cycling container for them because they contain Mercury which will harm people if it gets into the environment (do not break the tubes).

∙ 15y agoWhile the old ballast is still in the system identify all of the wires. Cut the wires from the old ballast at about three inches from the ballast. Take the old ballast out and install the new one. Using small wire nuts reconnect the new ballast to the wires the same way the first ballast was wired. If I remember right the black and white are the power supply, the two yellow go to each of the end sockets on one end of the fixture and the two red and two blue go to the other end of the tube sockets. This is for a two lamp magnetic ballast.
