Spray more clear coat over the decals.
I wouldn't risk putting paint over any decals. In general, it must be quite easy to remove decals first.
A clear coat or more depending on what you have painted. This will chip the clear coat not your colour coat. For best protection a two pack clear that when cured ends up as hard as nails to protect the finished products colour from damage. It also will chip but gives a good protection for the colour coat. !
yes u can use clear coat on ur enamel paint but first u hav to put primer then paint coats two - three coats depending on the requirements and then apply the clear coat single or double as required and most important thing is drying time shud be given in between each coats.
Though it is possible to get clear coat to adhere to primer, there are a couple of reasons this is a bad idea. The first and foremost reason is that the primers main job is corrosion protection, coupled with a chemical and mechanical foundation coat for basecoat or color coat in a single stage system, it is not designed to be clear coated. The chemical bond between primer and clear coat would be very weak. Base coat paints have modifications in the resins to allow them to adhere to the primers, and still give the clear coat the proper foundation for it to adhere to, while flowing out in the wet look finish it is designed to have. Also, most of the primer jobs you see running around will have sun faded areas, as well as bleaching in short order. If you want the flat primer look, but have a job that will last, prime the vehicle, base coat it in the gray color you want, but clear coat it with one of the prepackage flat clear coats that are available. The resulting job looks like it is "just primer" but has all the chemical and physical protection of a traditional clear coat job, just not the gloss.
I have a clear coat and a coat of capture log home stain (Sashco) on my log home, I would like to paint over it with a latex paint, is this possible?
Clear coat is applied over a base color for the gloss
Yeah but it wont be as shiny...
first wetsand with 1200 grit making sure to get the edges very good... Dust with tack coat then apply......then if you want a second coat wait 5 to 10 mins hit with another coat continue until happy...
If it is single stage paint then no if base coat then yes....
If there are scratches on the surface before you clear coat, the clear will not come out smooth. If you are spraying new clear coat over an old clear coat, the entire surface must be wet sanded with at least a 600 grit wet/dry paper so the surface is rough enough to accept the clear. If you are spraying new clear over an new base coat, the same techinque for prepping the surface will be necessary if the base coat has dried.
A basecoat is the undermost coat of paint over which subsequent layers can be applied.

Put stickers on them and and go over them with a clear coat
That depends on whether the basecoat is a solid colour or a metallic. Metallic basecoats are not sanded before applying clear. Sanding it will destroy its reflective properties and give it a patchy appearence. It must be applied evenly in three coats, followed by a final ''control coat'', where the gun is moved further away , and the speed of the passes is increased. When the basecoat is touch-dry (5-10 min.) wipe over it lightly with a tack-cloth to remove any loose metalflake particles, before the clear is applied. Clearcoat is optional on a solid-colour basecoat, and if necessary, it may be allowed to dry overnight and sanded with 800-1200 grit before applying clearcoat. Semi Metallic and "pearl coats" when properly applied should not need the "mist coat" and the clear should be applied as soon as the flash off time has passed. 5-10 minutes is usually not enough for "touch dry" unless it is in a climate controlled booth. And you do not want to add clear if the base coat IS touch dry. It will cause frosting or a glaze. Always read the instructions that come with the base coat and clear coats. If you want to sand before the clear coats, you need to wait at least 48 hours than put another wet coat of basecoe on before clear.
If the scratch is in the clear coat, then there is a possibility to buff it out. Deep scratches into the color coat need to be color filled matching paint color) then clear coated over.
