Depends on the car... If you can see the injectors, you'll need to disconnect the wiring harnesses from the injectors... (there is also usually a boot over the injector). You then need to disconnect the injector from the fuel rail. (careful not to strip the little fitting). You can then use a wrench or injector socket to remove the injector. Make sure you replace the gaskets and seals when installing the new injectors. (might need Teflon tape around the pipe fitting where the injector feeds from the fuel rail).
Cycle the ignition key to the on position several times leaving it in the on position for a few seconds each time. The electric fuel pump will run for 2 to 3 seconds each time thereby priming the fuel system. Doing this 3 to 4 times should be enough to bring the system up to operating pressure.
You dismantle it totally and at some point you will find a small mesh filter. This is the part that generally fills with crap. I use an old toothbrush and gas to rub them clean, then re-assemble the whole thing in reverse order.
Simply put some injector cleaner in the gas tank. If this doesn't work, a mechanic will have to clean it. GoodluckJoe
Don't remove them. Instead, go get a bottle of good fuel system cleaner from your auto parts store. You will accomplish nothing by removing them.
Take off the Intake hose and with a clean cloth sprayed with WD40 wipe inside. OR Take Throttle body off and soak in Carbruetor Cleaner and reinstall.
a leaking fuel injector must be replaced
Replace them with new ones.
It is part of the fuel pump module in the tank.
The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. You have to remove the fuel tank to access.
Yes, along with many other causes a bad fuel pump relay can cause a no start. The fuel pump relay provides power to the fuel pump.
Make sure you have voltage at the pump. If you do then the new pump is defective. If not, the fuse is blown or the fuel pump relay is bad. Where is relay?
Yes, it is a fuel pump relay.
unclog a fuel line or unclog your filter and pump? the lines i think you can just disconnect the fuel filter and pump, disconnect all lines from the tank, and blow them out with air. i dont know if there's anything special about a 97 s10 but shouldnt be too hard if you have an air compressor. pumps and filters should be replaced, not repaired.
If there is a 'clog' in the fuel line, it's likely to be the fuel filter doing its job.Note: the fuel pump is mounted inside the gas tank.See "Related Questions" below for much more about Windstar fuel filters and pumps
You don't unclog the fuel filter, simply replace the whole canister with a new one.
If you are certain the fuel pump is clogged, it would be best to change the fuel pump. Either way you have to drop the fuel tank and remove the pump. I'm not to sure if you can even buy the screen and parts seperatly. You may have to buy a new one. Have you changed the fuel filter? It may not even be the pump. I would rule out any possibilities before dropping the tank.ANS 2 -Good point about the main fuel filter, Willy - that's what I'd change first too.
It depends on what is wrong with it an d what part of the country you live in.. Call a couple of local garages.
It is important to have functioning fuel injectors. A person can unclog their fuel injectors by buying fuel injector cleaner and putting it in their gas tank every time it almost empty.
You don't try to unclog it you just replace it with a new one.
If I were you I would just replace the fuel filter if it is cloged.
I disconnected the fuel line from the fuel pump, attached a two-foot section of fuel host to the fuel line, then blew compressed air through the line until I could hear bubbles coming from the fuel tank. Then I draped the hose over the back bumper, and let the dirty fuel drain through the system into a spare gas tank. When clear gas was coming out, I reconnected the fuel pump, changed the fuel filter, and it was good to go.
you uhh buy a new one
If there is fuel in the tank and it is making it's way to the fuel pump, and the fuel pump will not pump fuel, the pump is obviously defective. Replace the fuel pump with a new one.
The fuel pump switch is what tells the fuel pump what pressure to pump fuel into the fuel rail
