Petrified wood is when the tree is in contact with elements and minerals that solidify it into a rock or petrified tree. A mold is the fossilized imprint from an animal or plant organism, whilst a cast is when the organism died or ended up in a rock/mineral and ended up being filled with the minerals of the surroundings over time (from the limestone as example). This creates a replica of the organism once the actual organism dissolves.
This is what I gathered from science class today...
So I suggest you do more research if needed.
Forgive me if I'm wrong.
Good luck with whatever you need this for
With tree types of wood you may have to stain each one separately. All three types of wood will have different porosity and maybe a different base color of their own which will make staining the same color a challenge. Perhaps an opaque stain would work better allowing you to see the grain of the wood but have a more uniform color.
You need to tell us what wood you are staining ! -All woods respond differently to different stains.
Primers are good for protecting against stains, wood sealer is good for soft woods, and wood stains are good for different types of wood. Semitransparent stains are meant for bare wood and semisolid is meant for ones that have previously been stained.
It is a template or ruler made out of plastic, metal or wood composed of many different curves.
A smooth wood, made with different kind of woods glued and tight packed together.
Fossils!!
There are a variety of types of fossils. These include cast fossils, mold fossils, petrified wood, as well as fossil fuels.
Petrified Wood
The streak of petrified wood is black or brown. The streak can also be white.

Petrified wood has turned to stone, a type of fossil, It is unlikley that you would be able to burn it.
(EXAMPLE)Casts of flora and fauna are created by (for example) a leaf falling into mud millions of years ago. the mud eventually hardens forming sandstone and therefore, the leaf is embedded within this. bones, twigs, small animals like mice or fish are commonly found in this way. After pressure from surface material or the build up of further sand or mud, whole bodies can become trapped, leaving complete skeleton fossils. Ice is another good producer of foosils or petrified casts, like mammoths, Sabre tooth tigers etc.
Petrified wood is the state stone of Mississippi. This was designated in 1976. Mississippi contains a large petrified forest park and museum.
